WindPro was our first product offering to the renewable energy industry. Having been established in the late eighties it is now the largest provider of insurance capacity to the wind energy industry.

We can insure any one single project up to USD 600,000,000 / EUR 450,000,000 or the equivalent in any other currency.
CONSTRUCTION
The wind power industry is unique in many aspects, especially during construction. WindPro recognises these unique challenges by having a policy that seamlessly transposes from the construction phase to the operational phase of the project. Most insurance policies will not provide protection for lost revenue after the turbine has commenced producing electrical energy or the take over certificate has been issued. The WindPro product is distinctive insofar as it will indemnify the project for the lost revenue applicable to each turbine during the construction phase even if the whole project has not yet been handed over.
DEFECTS
The policies we offer give extensions that will provide for defects liability and extended maintenance up to 24 months after the project has become commercially operational.
LICENSES
Because we benefit from Lloyd's licenses, we can provide cover globally without the need for complicated and costly ‘fronting' or reinsurance arrangements in most instances. This means you receive the insurance policy directly from us, no one else.
OPERATING ALL RISKS
We will underwrite projects in and out of warranty regardless of their location. It is commonly understood that manufacturers provide warranties with their products. Our product is different as it will pay consequential damage and also the lost revenue that would not be recoverable from a manufacturer following a loss. We can offer full Earthquake, Windstorm and Flood cover in most territories and high limits in large Catastrophe zones.
